The Map Room
One way of looking at the VoicePrint triangle is as a conceptual map. But like all good maps it can be unfolded and expanded to reveal more. In this section we explore a variety of ways in which the patterns and relationships among the nine voices in the triangle can be explored and understood in greater depth. These different maps shed light on issues of purpose, on focus of attention, on tacit strategies, on potential impacts, on comfort and discomfort zones, on patterns of collaboration, on sources of tension and misunderstanding, and on how particular combinations and trajectories from one voice to another can be deployed to create productive forms of dialogue. These maps turn an ostensibly simple conceptual framework into a subtle and practical perceptual tool, which can be used to sharpen awareness not only about about the variety of different framings that can be employed when exploring a VoicePrint profile, but also about what is or might be happening and the action choices open to us in the moment.
The maps are provided here in two forms, first as micro-learnings, which invite you to actively explore each map and its associated concepts in order to grasp and reflect on their implications, and, secondly as simpler summary explanations. The summary downloads may be a useful basis for discussions with, or resources to be developed and shared with, your clients and VoicePrint end-users.
